March 28th, 2011 was a special day for architecture: one of the great masters of the 20th century architecture meets his 125th birthday.  Mies van der Rohe, a key figure in the course of modern architecture, probably an architect studied by every one of those who read these lines.

Mies delighted us not only with his exquisite architecture, but he was also able to create a new style that combined the simplicity, elegance and classic touch, which applied in works ranging from lightweight structures to skyscrapers.

Currently, Mies is one of the most important architects; his work has had a great influence and has played a large part in contemporary architecture.
